Copysplit Inc (“Copysplit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Copysplit platform, website, and related services.
This policy applies to all users of the Copysplit platform, including account holders, team members, and visitors to our website. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect different types of information depending on how you interact with the Service:
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and company name. This information is necessary to provide the Service and communicate with you.
- Usage data: We collect data about how you use the platform, including pages visited, features used, test configurations created, and actions taken within the application.
- Pixel data: The Copysplit Pixel installed on your sites collects anonymous visitor behavior data, such as page views, clicks, and conversion events. The Pixel does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) from visitors to client sites.
- Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers. We retain only transaction identifiers and billing history necessary for account management.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and operate the Service, including running A/B tests and generating analytics reports.
- To improve and develop the platform based on usage patterns and user feedback.
- To send service-related communications, such as account notifications, billing updates, and security alerts.
- To generate analytics, reports, and insights for your account and tests.
- To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you, including providing the Service, managing your account, and processing payments.
- Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as improving the platform, preventing fraud, and ensuring security, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: Where required by law, we obtain your consent before processing your data, such as for optional marketing communications or non-essential analytics cookies. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Stripe: We share billing information with Stripe for payment processing. Stripe’s handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Infrastructure providers: We use third-party hosting, CDN, and infrastructure providers to deliver the Service. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
- No selling of personal data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
- Law enforcement: We may disclose your data to law enforcement or government authorities only when legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or regulatory request.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Copysplit website and application:

- No third-party advertising cookies: We do not use advertising cookies or allow third-party advertisers to place cookies through our Service.

7. The Copysplit Pixel
The Copysplit Pixel is a lightweight JavaScript snippet installed on client sites to enable A/B testing and conversion tracking. It is important to understand how the Pixel handles data:
- The Pixel tracks anonymous conversion events and user interactions, such as clicks, page views, and form submissions, to determine test performance.
- The Pixel does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) from visitors to client sites. It does not capture names, email addresses, or other personal details.
- The Pixel does not set cookies on end-user browsers. Variation assignment is handled through server-side mechanisms.
- The Pixel is designed to be compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data according to the following schedule:
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after account closure to allow for reactivation or data export.
- Pixel data: Retained according to your subscription plan: 7 days (Starter), 30 days (Growth), 90 days (Pro), or unlimited (Enterprise).
- Deletion upon request: You may request deletion of your data at any time. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.
9. Your Rights
Under GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly-used, machine-readable format.
- Right to restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Right to object: Object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests.

10. International Transfers
Your data is primarily processed and stored in the European Union (Ireland). In cases where data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure adequate protection through the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Copysplit Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. 12. Changes & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice via email or through the Service before the changes take effect.
